Technology changes at a rapid rate in the modern world, and here at RCR Infrastructure, we’re committed to remaining ahead of the curve. That’s one of the reasons we’ve partnered with Hong Kong drone consultancy and inspection company RaSpect to expand and improve our services. With RaSpect’s drone technology and support systems, we can now deliver more streamlined and comprehensive inspections.
From site preparation and pre-inspection to ongoing building maintenance and monitoring, RaSpect’s drone technology represents a significant advance in our industry. It’s one of many improvements we’re constantly implementing to ensure our clients receive the very best and most cost-effective services.
Identify Energy Efficiency Issues Faster
Produce Customised Reporting Easier
A Safer Way To Inspect Your Infrastructure
Preparing for inspection
When conducting thorough building inspections, it takes a lot more than just checking the current state of the structure and its internal assets. There is a lot of preparation required, such as pre-site surveys and the production of specification job sheets. RaSpect drone technology enhances and streamlines this process.
With CAD application integration, as well as advanced infrared and 3D modelling capability, we can now complete inspection preparation faster and more reliably thanks to the RaSpect drone systems.
Autonomous inspections
Traditional building inspection services were very hands-on, time-consuming and also subject to instances of human error. The RaSpect drone system not only slashes the time it takes to prepare and conduct inspections but also increases accuracy. Using AI and machine learning capabilities, everything is more efficient from start to finish.
Programmable custom pre-flight checklists make it easy to ensure safety procedures are followed. Traceable autonomous drone inspections mean less human intervention is required, with the drone operating on pre-plotted flight paths. There is even a day-back flight path function for repeated inspections, meaning the data you gather from the first inspection can be compared with later efforts.
3D modelling
An important part of building façade inspections is having the ability to generate 3D modelling of a building. While most building owners would have access to older data forms such as blueprints, a 3D model gives so much more data, and it’s also so much more easily accessible. Again, thanks to the dual camera operation on RaSpect drones, 3D modelling is so much easier.
Whether you need 3D modelling during construction, for redevelopment purposes or as part of your ongoing building management, RCR is your skilled inspection specialist delivering cost-effective and thorough modelling services.
Infrared thermography capabilities
The dual camera system on RaSpect drones provides more flexibility than ever before. Incorporating thermal imaging, we’re now able to access thermal and visual data comparisons in real-time, as well as during post-inspection analysis of data. So, while your main goal may be a general façade inspection for cleaning, maintenance or construction inspection purposes, you can now do even more.
Thermal imaging is an excellent way to check the heat signature of a building, which has several advantages. Firstly, it’s the perfect option for identifying energy-efficiency issues such as air leaks. Temperature changes in the building can be identified easily and inspected further when necessary. This technology also allows us to analyse the function of certain assets such as HVAC systems.
Modern buildings have increasingly powerful, yet also complex HVAC systems, especially if solar energy is also included. Using drone capability to capture thermal images of your building provides a much more solid base from which to further investigate faults in HVAC systems. In fact, the thermal imaging capabilities can even detect excess heat caused by friction in components of your HVAC system.
Increased data and analysis
Drones represent a safe, reliable and improved way to conduct façade inspections. However, gathering valuable data is useless without the right reporting methods. RaSpect’s drone inspection system supports comprehensive, customisable and tailored reporting based on individual use cases and needs. It also uses a paperless cloud system, making it easier to access your data from anywhere.
