RCR Infrastructure Acquire Tempest Air Conditioning Systems

The pace of change in today’s building environment calls for creative solutions. For over 20 years, Tempest Air Conditioning Systems have been thinking outside the square and applying design ingenuity to create innovative, sustainable solutions for the HVAC industry.

With many customers all throughout New Zealand and some that were also national customers of RCR, it was the sensible decision to bring Tempest under the RCR Infrastructure umbrella to give Tempest staff security and to enhance the in-house capability of RCR Infrastructure.

ABOUT TEMPEST

Tempest was a wholly New Zealand owned company providing Air Conditioning solutions for both large Industrial, Retail and Commercial spaces such as Bulk Retail complexes, Shopping Centres, Warehouses, Supermarkets and Commercial Kitchen systems.

With a team comprised of highly skilled HVAC designers and engineers and an in-house sheet metal production facility, this provided a quality controlled, safe manufacturing alternative, necessary to complete large scale and intricate projects, successfully and efficiently.

This now falls all under RCR’s capability.

Through its acquisition of Tempest, RCR have inherited their capability in;

Design
Thoroughly updated with the latest codes, technologies, and practices, this all-in-one resource provides details, calculations, and specifications for designing efficient and effective commercial, and industrial HVAC systems. This features new information on energy conservation and computer usage for design and control.

Detailed illustrations, tables, and essential HVAC equations are also included. This now allows RCR everything we need to design, operate, and maintain peak-performing HVAC system, using the latest programs Revit and AutoCad.
Fabrication
From the company’s sheetmetal shop located on Ellice Road, Glenfield, our team of fabricators and designers oversee the precise manufacturing of ducting systems on-site which can be flat-packed and delivered to site for installation, country-wide.

There are multiple benefits to having an in-house design and manufacturing capability. The team are well versed in the ‘design-build-test’ routine which minimises the chance of on-site issues or defects. Plus the company can mitigate the waste through accurately refining the design and execution phases, resulting in a more sustainable product at a reduced cost.
Installation
Our project team of qualified tradesman and apprentices installers ensure installation times are minimised by optimising their time on the job.
