PROJECT DETAILS
Key Objectives – RCR is the contractor responsible for the entire Mechanical and Electrical scope of the project. The refurbishment of the block involves a complete revamp of the interior of the building, which means that RCR was required to not only supply and install the latest HVAC and Electrical systems, we were also responsible for a large part of the demolition of the existing components, ensuring that all electrical systems and HVAC systems are to be safe before any demolition can begin. The ultimate objective of the project is to complete the refurbishment of M block to ensure not only the functionality of the systems implemented but also to ensure that all systems in place are of high-quality craftsmanship and precision to guarantee longevity and safety required for an educational establishment.
Complex hurdles – One of the hurdles which had to be overcome was that there were a number of discrepancies between the initial designs made for the construction compared to the logical process and implementation on site. As RCR was responsible for the whole electrical and HVAC system, RCR brought up alternative plans to combat the challenges and was able to work closely with the consultant to construct a new plan of action to improve the reliability of the system and efficiency of the project.
What made it a success – RCR considers this a great success as we were able to carry out the project with the great satisfaction of the main contractor on site. RCR was able to commit to the programme set out by the client and hence was able to form a strong relationship with the builder which can lead to many future opportunities.
How RCR Added Value – RCR added value to the project by completing the scope of work allocated to them with diligence and quality. By being in constant communication with the Client, RCR ensured that there is minimal delay caused by miscommunication and hence was able to carry out the project as scheduled and kept the customer satisfied.
